Flights:

STA Travel negotiates specially discounted rates with partner airlines, including United Airlines, Qantas and Lufthansa, on airfare for students, teachers and young professionals under the age of 26. The discounted fares offered by STA are typically significantly less than what travelers would find with standard published fares. These tickets are issued the same as regular tickets with standard rules and regulations and are not standby tickets.

The STA Travel Student Exclusive ticket offers students, youths and teachers, the flexibility that their schedules demand without the high-cost normally associated with flexible airline tickets. These tickets require only a minimal fee, usually about $35, to adjust the dates and times of the tickets. With a traditional airline ticket, the change fee could be up to a couple hundred dollars.

Hotels/Hostels:

STA Travel offers lodging options at hotels and hostels around the world. From the famous Clink Hostel – a former jailhouse – in London to the “four-globe” Demidoff Hotel in the hills of Tuscany, there are accommodations to fit every preference and wallet.

Each hotel is rated by one to five “globes” – the STA version of the star system – with a five-globe property being the best. A typical American hotel room is about a three-globe rating. Hotels from one to five-globes are all available through STA Travel. Hostels are not rated, but plenty of pictures and details are offered to help travelers know what to expect.
